Pop up test

This is the pop up test. If you can see this window, then your pop up blocker is switched off.

We know that pop up windows have a bad reputation, however here at IDC we use them but only when you need them. They do not pop up on their own.

On nearly every page you will find two of these windows to give help and tips relevant to that page.

We also use pop up windows to show previews, this is actually very necessary as it prevents you from inadvertently navigating away from the site and potentially accidentally logging out.

Click the (x) above to close this window.

    Tests

This page will run some basic tests on the browser that you are using. This will make sure that you have the optimal setting to use IDC. As with the rest of the site NO software will be loaded on to your PC at all during these tests.

Popup test. Although pop ups have a bad reputation, they were in fact developed to give help on pages where there was insufficient space. That's what we use them for. When this page opened, you should have seen a blue pop up window on the screen.

If you did not, you have a pop up blocker and it's switched on. In order to access the page help and previews you need to turn this off, or set it to allow popups from www.interactive-delegate.co.uk.

All of our pop ups are at your request, they will never 'just appear'.

Your Browser. This ideally should be Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, from a security point of view you should be using version 6.0 or higher.

Result:-

Screen Resolution. Ideally this should be 1024 x 768, however 800 x 600 is adequete, our pages are designed to fit both.

Result:-

Active X and Java. These languages allow us to control many of the validations and tools.

Result:-

Javascript. Javascript is a toned down version of Java, and is also required for some functions.

Notes

Some system administrators could have an issue with you turning on Java and active X controls on your PC, however we assure you that they are safe within our site and are more than happy to explain how and for what they are used for to your IT department.

To change screen your resolution

  1. Follow these instructions to increase your Windows PC's display resolution.
  2. Click the mouse pointer on Start, Settings, and then Control Panel.
  3. (On Windows XP, Click on Start and then Control Panel) Double-click Display. Select the Settings tab. In an area labelled Screen area, Desktop area or Screen resolution you will see a slider.
  4. Your screen size is indicated below this slider (Click here for an image)
  5. Move the slider to the right using the mouse until this reads at least 800 by 600 pixels - if your monitor screen size is 17 inches or larger then 1024 by 768 is the ideal resolution.
  6. If there is a Test button, click this to test your new screen resolution.
  7. If the test is successful, click OK. Otherwise, click Apply.

In addition - have a look at your colour quality (left of the screen resolution) ideally it should be16 bit or higher. If the screen seems to flicker on a higher screen size, reduce the screen size to it's previous value, then please contact us or your IT people and we'll explain how to stop this happening.
